As the embodiment of hope, you’ll meet other conceptual beings as you solve puzzles, always pushing forward (as you’re powerless to do otherwise) in Infini.
Hope has to keep going; it’s kind of their shtick. However, the world isn’t doing so hot during their absence, as the loss of hope doesn’t usually bode well for people. Once Hope’s on a journey, though, they have to see it through to the end. Hope is not going to give up, as it would be pretty weird if they did. So, you need to speed things along by shuffling them through their meetings with the personifications of Time, Poetry, War, and more. Although I’m sure they all have a lot to talk about with one another.
Keeping Hope moving along is made challenging because reality and the way forward can be a bit skewed, here. Pathways lie waiting for you to take them, but you need to manipulate your view of the screen, as well as how you fall, if you want to make it to them. Should you tumble off the screen, you’ll just loop back on the other side, so you’ll have to fiddle with this perspective and fall direction in order to find the way to the next place. Luckily, you’ve got as many chances as you like.
Infini is a surreal journey, with its artwork carrying a sense of exploring something deeper within the constructs of your dreaming mind. This seems designed to open you up, allowing your mind to wander the meanings of grander concepts within this shifting world. It’s a lovely journey of contemplation if you can give yourself over to it.
Infini is available now on itch.io and Steam.
